The Advisory Board’s goal is to help carry out MYCJ’s Mission & Vision, maintain historical knowledge of the organization, and retain institutional experience. Efforts to sustain the organization include, but are not limited to:

• Oversight of the Executive Director

• Financial oversight

• Fundraising and development support

• Strategic development

• Advisory Board recruitment

• Supporting logistics for Youth Day of Action

• Organizational mission alignment and compliance

Advisory Board members will meet quarterly with the Executive Director for regular MYCJ business, as well as hold supplemental meetings when needed (e.g. setting governance or during a hiring process), with occasional work and votes taking place over email. The Advisory Board must conduct an Annual Review of the Co-Directors or Executive Director at the beginning of the fourth quarter of every year.

MYCJ’s Advisory Board is made up of an odd number of at least 5 members, each expected to serve 2 year terms, with a limit of 2 consecutive terms. Advisory Board members can receive a stipend of $1,000 for the 2-year term, paid out over two payments of $500.
